My friend Tani climbed to the summit of Mt. Hood last weekend.

These are NOT my photos, I asked her permission to use them.

Hey Joe, these pic's are awesome. I have a problem though, they make me feel like a wimp for not going up there myself! Way to go Tani!

Good work, Patrick. Mt. St Helen is the farthest volcano in the picture. What is the closest one?

RT has it. Not sure if you used a map program, but that's how I would have done it!

She is looking south, you can see the sun is to the east. That would put St. Helen and Mt. Adams in the proper position, I think.

Dead Reckoning baby... Great Minds think alike.... and all that bs.

If you draw a line from Hood to St. Helens on google earth, the only white capped peak to the right of that angle is Adams.

56 miles away btw. I was really surprised you can see that far of in the distance. It be like seeing the Highrises in Dallas from my ranch 3 counties away.

Amazing pics. Aint no way I could make that climb.

From the top of Mt. Hood, at 11,242 feet, you are 2 miles above the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, (no haze) you can see an astonishing distance, even from the top of our highest chairlift, which is a little over 8,000 feet. The Cascade crest, averages around 4,000 feet, except for the volcano's.

And climbing Hood isn't that difficult. You can catch a Cat ride to the 8,500 foot level, and hike from there.

Nice work, RT.
